Our faculty and staff (listed below in alphabetical order) are academic professionals in technology and practitioners in business and industry.

gary benjamin   Dr. Gary Benjamin is the Administrator for the program.He joined the faculty at Bowling Green State University in 2001. He was formerly Corporate Director of Organization Development and Management Development for a Fortune 500 company. In this capacity he was responsible for the development and implementation of Professional and Skill development programs for all employees. Dr. Benjamin served as a Leadership Coach to senior management, and developed and directed the Leadership improvement plans for managers at all levels. His primary area of interest is in helping students better understand how organizations operate and how to integrate new technologies to improve organization performance. An additional area of focus is to ensure that the workplace perceives these new applications as both practical and value-added. Dr. Benjamin received his Masters degree from Bowling Green State University and his Doctorate from The University of Toledo.
     
paul cesarini  
Dr. Paul Cesarini is an Associate Professor & Chair of the Department of Visual Communication & Technology Education, in the Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program. His current research and work focuses on digital rights management and the on-going erosion of fair use for audio, video, and text. He has written for a wide variety of academic journals and trade publications, including The Journal of Technology Studies, MobilePC, The IT Manager's Journal, NewsForge, Computers & Composition Online, OS News, New Mobile Computing, The National Association of Industrial Technology, The Journal of Industrial Technology, The Journal of Literacy and Technology, The PowerBook Zone, Go2Mac, the International Society for Exploring Teaching and Learning, The Review, and others. Paul also served as keynote speaker for the Wired for the Future symposium and the 2006 ResNet conference, and recently wrote columns for EDUCAUSE Review and the Chronicle of Higher Education. Prior to working in the ATE program, Paul created and managed the BGSU Student Technology Center, often referred to as just "StudentTech". StudentTech continues to serve the BGSU student population in all areas related to technology literacy. In this capacity, Paul also coordinated the Laptop Loan Program and the annual Tech Fair.
     
larry hatch  
Dr. Larry Hatch holds two degrees (B.S, M.S.) in Industrial Education from Iowa State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. Dr. Hatch has taught undergraduate courses in Technology Education and graduate courses in research, evaluation, and statistics. His scholarship has focused on curriculum and laboratories for technological literacy. Dr. Hatch is the originator of this program and has helped establish BS in Technology, ATE major, as one of BGSU's first on-line degrees.
     
kathryn hoff  
Dr. Kathryn S. Hoff, the Program Leader for the Human Resource Development specialization within our Ph.D. Consortium program in Technology Management, also teaches a variety of the courses in both the core and the Training & Development concentration within the Bachelor of Science in Technology program. She earned a Master of Education in Career & Technology Education, as well as a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, both from Bowling Green State University. She spent more than 20 years as a human resource development practitioner responsible for internship and cooperative education programs, college relations and recruiting, career development and management of employees, organizational change management, and training and development. Dr. Hoff is wrapping up an 8-year term as the Managing Director for the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD), an international association of scholars and practitioners whose mission is leading human resource development through research. She is a contributor and reviewer for the AHRD’s journals. She has also served as the president of the local chapter of the American Society of Training & Development (ASTD).
     
sherri ogden  
Sherri Orwick Ogden is the recruiter and representative  for the College of Technology online Bachelor of Science in Technology Advanced Technological Education degree completion program.  She holds a Business Associate Degree and a Bachelor of Science in Technology (ATE) from BGSU.   Her background is in business and technology holding various positions including project manager, database consultant, and owner of a networking and database management company.  Other current responsibilities include Secretary of the BGSU Administrative Staff Council. 
     
bur shilling  
Dr. Burnette Shilling (Bur) is currently teaching TECH 310 [Computer-mediated Communication] and is the Academic Advisor for the program. He completed a baccalaureate degree from Taylor University in Indiana, a Master’s degree from Winebrenner Seminary, Findlay, OH, a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity University, Deerfield, IL, and a Ph.D. from BGSU. He has most recently been on the faculty of Winebrenner Seminary, Findlay, Ohio, where he taught in the Master’s and Doctoral programs and was Director of Doctoral Studies. He also has taught undergraduate communication classes at the University of Findlay as well as directed a 2 + 2 undergraduate degree designed for adult learners. Bur has been an adjunct faculty member of the Jerusalem Center, Jerusalem, Israel, for several years where he teaches Middle East history and geography.
