Housed in the Division of Academic Affairs, the mission of the Center for Online and Blended Learning is to:

1. Promote and lead the design, development, and implementation of online and blended programs and courses at BGSU.
   
   
2. Collaborate with Colleges to develop assessment measures to ensure quality and achievement of learning outcomes in online and blended initiatives. 
   
   
3. Provide faculty training and support for online technologies and pedagogies.
   
   
4. Maintain centralized informational web sites for:
   BGSU online students (online.bgsu.edu)
   BGSU faculty (cobl.bgsu.edu)
   
   
5. Oversee and collaborate with the BGSU Online Learning Council in developing policies and procedures that ensure coherence in institutional efforts including student services, policies, procedures, and standards for online learning initiatives.
   
   
6. Identify and develop partnerships with other institutions/organizations that will advantage BGSU's ability to deliver relevant content in a timely fashion.
   
   
7. Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies and pedagogies for online and blended learning.
   
   
8. Collaborate with Information Technology Services and Academic Technology in the rapid response to and deployment of current educational technologies.
   
   
9. Expand BGSU marketing efforts to include distance and blended options. 
   
   
10. Seek external funding to facilitate original research and development to enhance unique BGSU online and blended learning opportunities.
