center for online and blended learning

Are you teaching an online or blended course this summer? Whether you are tuning up an old course or working out the details of a new one, this bootcamp will introduce several tools and techniques to help you become a more effective facilitator. Session times are listed in the registration form below.

Session Descriptions

  • COURSE PREPARATION WORKSHOP (30min) - Course preparation and maintenance is a continuous process. Learn about the checklist we created to help you keep track of important administrative tasks.

  • BUILDING AN EFFECTIVE SYLLABUS (30min) - Learn about our syllabus template, which is aligned to Quality Matters standards. A good syllabus is like a road-map to success in your course. We'll explain the key components of our template and how they can help save time during the course development process.

  • EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES (60min) - We'll spend this hour talking about our favorite tools that, when leveraged correctly, will greatly enhance student engagement, participation, learning, and creativity.

Each info session is immediately followed by an OPEN LAB with experienced Instructional Designers on hand to answer questions about managing an online classroom. Topics might include effective teaching and time management strategies, prioritizing administrative tasks, and collaboration and productivity enhancing tools.
